With two boys in kinder, I’m a lunch packing machine these days. I try to avoid the repetetive sandwiches and love switching things up when I get that creative bug. One of the more requested lunches that I make are for Mini DIY Pizzas, which is just a few pizza toppings and a little creativity. My boys love putting together their own pizzas and I love that it’s just as easy (if not easier!) to make as pb&j. This fun school lunch idea is one for the record books because I totally see myself making this throughout my boys’ school lives.

To start, you’ll pack three pieces of thin sandwich bread in a small baggie.

In a small air tight container, add few tablespoons of pizza or tomato sauce. And in the other side, add some shredded mozzarella cheese.

In a small snack bag, add some pepperoni and olives (or whatever toppings are your kiddos fave).

That’s really all it takes! Told ya it was just as easy as a classic pb&j! Plus, your kids will be so stoked to make their own pizza during lunch at school that afternoon.

When I make school lunch for my kids, I try to round it out with some fruit or a veggie and a little treat for them to enjoy, like Hershey’s Ready to Eat Pudding in S’mores flavor. My boys love that Hershey’s Pudding is rich and creamy. Plus it’s made with real Hershey’s cocoa! Add some juice and you’ve packed a kid-friendly lunch that took almost no time at all.

You can grab everything you need to create this simple school lunch idea for your kids at your local Walmart. Just don’t take your two year old with you when you purchase this Ready to Eat Pudding because she’ll have a meltdown for the record books when you tell her she cannot each one in the middle of the store before it’s paid for. Not that I’d know from experience or anything.

The September/October issue of ALL YOU Magazine has a $0.55 off coupon for Hershey’s Ready to Eat Pudding! Pick one up today and pull out your coupon to add this yummy treat to your kiddo’s lunches (or an after school snack!)

School lunches can be daunting, this I know. Especially when you know Bento Mom is going to have a gourmet five star meal packed for little Jack’s lunch. But with just a little effort and some creative juices, you can pack a lunch that’s just as fun with one of the added stress.
