My husband and I are cereal addicts and love to eat a bowl full of our favorite Kellogg’s cereals doused in milk. Being the foodie I am, I wanted to take cereal out of the bowl and get creative with how we enjoy our favorite flavors and textures. Combining our love of cereal for our passionate love affair with donuts (yes, I referred to donuts as a passionate love affair, it’s that serious), I created these easy to make Cereal and Milk Donuts that are a symphony of crunchy and sweet over a fluffy vehicle of donut goodness!
You’ll need a few of your favorite cereals, preferably extra crunchy kind that aren’t overly sweet (you’ll get plenty of sweetness from the frosting!). We used Corn Flakes and Cracklin’ Oat Bran. My husband came in to wolf down nearly half the box of Oat Bran while I was unpacking them after my trip to our local Vons and noted that he must officially be old because he desperately looks forward to his Cracklin’ Oats, ha!
To start, I grabbed a can of refrigerated biscuits (I told you this was easy!) and laid them out on a baking sheet and using my hand, I flattened them slightly.
Then I cut a small hole in the middle using a small shot glass. Priorities, friends.
In a pan filled halfway with hot oil, I dropped them in and let them cook on each side for about a minute each time.
When I pulled them out, while they were still warm, I lightly frosted them with cream cheese frosting.
Before the frosting could set, I sprinkled on our favorite Kellogg’s cereals: Cracklin’ Oat Bran and Corn Flakes.
And it was that easy. The texture of the crunchy Corn Flakes over the sweet and fluffy dough was breakfast perfection. It was actually easier to make these indulgent donuts than pancakes or even eggs!
Donuts can seem kind of intimidating, but using a few shortcuts, you can whip ’em together in under ten minutes and be enjoying all kinds of crunchy Kellogg’s cereal flavors on top of them!
