One Photo Every Hour, a Day in my Life

Remember the days of LiveJournal when DIML or a photo an hours posts were all the rage? I thought I’d pay homage to the place where I began my blogging career with a throwback to those posts and share a classic One Photo Every Hour post to give you a peek into my everyday life. From everything to what I chose to wear to what I fill my tummy with, I’m sharing it all with you!

6:15AM

Wake up alarm. Not a morning person, so I snooze for another 15 minutes before getting up for the day. Shower, hair, makeup.

7:30AM

Time to wake up my littles. Evelyn’s already awake and completely destroyed her bedroom while I was getting ready. Boys take 124545633 minutes to get dressed. While they spend several minutes putting on one sock, I grab a Naked Cold Pressed Juice for breakfast. Keeping it light because I know I have Bible study after I drop off the dudes and there’s always so much good food there. Naked Pressed have no added sugar, no preservatives and are verified by the Non GMO Project. Each Naked Cold Pressed Juice is made with ready-to-eat, high quality fruits and vegetables that are cold-pressed right into the bottle. The juices are shipped immediately to ensure only the highest-quality, best-tasting juice hits the shelf every time; which makes it an easy choice for my busy mornings.

Boys dropped off at school. Being the stalker mom I am, I pull up to a spot where I can watch and confirm their arrival to their kindergarten playground. Once they’re safe and sound, Evelyn, my Naked Pressed Cool Pineapple and I head out into a neighboring town for my study group meeting.

I arrive at my women’s Bible study meeting and drop Evelyn off with her class. I enjoy a couple of glorious hours of child-free adult interaction with my sisters!

My Bible study meeting is over. And always leaves me feeling recharged and ready to tackle my week. Evelyn and I have a mini date with curly fries and iced tea.

Back home, I hunker down for a little bit of blog work.

Since I indulged in some curly fries earlier, I enjoy another Naked Pressed Juice in Bright Greens, a refreshing blend of eight juices: apple, cucumber, celery, lettuce, lemon, kale, spinach, and wheatgrass. As a work from home mom, it’s such a great solution for me. I get to keep chugging away at my to do list without skipping a beat. Evelyn enjoys a deconstructed pizza. Or rather, just some of her fave toppings. Mozzarella, pepperonis, black olives. She’s a grazer and almost never sits down to eat meals, much to my dismay.

Evelyn and I play with blocks and dresses. She is the sweetest princess that ever lived.

Evelyn gets loaded into her carseat and we drive down to the school to pick up my dudes. She whines for the duration of the ride and the ten minutes we wait in the parking lot for them, stopping only long enough to notice a baby bird. When I ask her what’s wrong, she has no answer. This, my friends, is life as a toddler mom.

It’s snack time. My kids come home from school positively starved everyday. Usually their lunches are barely picked through. Annoyed face here. Daddy comes home and dishes out cuddles, wrestling matches, and dog lovin’s.

4:15PM

I get dinner started. Tonight it’s BLTs. BLT hack: use avocado instead of mayo. All the yums, less calories. Husband leaves for a men’s group meeting.

5:15PM

Kids are finished, which of course means I just sat down to enjoy my food. They enjoy a couple episodes on TV while I clean up after dinner.

The boys take turns in the shower. Evelyn gets a, “nernaid,” bath.

7:00PM

Teeth are brushed. Hair is combed. Evelyn goes to bed while I do flash cards with the boys and read them each a book.

8:04PM

I get to settle into bed. And catch up on Downton Abbey. I get weird satisfaction in saving up a few episodes to binge watch.

9:45PM

Husband comes home from his group. We get to chat for a bit while he gets his stuff ready for work the next morning. Our dog seizes this as her opportunity to snuggle in between us.

10:15PM

A few rounds of solitaire on my phone and then I tuck into sleep.

Somehow, this One Photo Every Hour post seems much more exhausting than in my LiveJournal days. Before husband. Before kids. When it was just artsy shots of my feet on pavement and my alarm clock, and my choppy emo/scene girl haircut.
