Lavender oil is a popular essential oil that’s used for a variety of things including relaxing and rejuvenating the senses. I use lavender oil in my daily life and appreciate its natural properties. With so much information about oils going around, I thought I’d share a few of my favorite uses for this amazing oil.

Rejuvenating and calming

I’ve created my own way of using it for this by dispensing some of my Nature’s Truth Lavender Oil into a roller perfume bottle with some coconut oil as a carrier. When I want to feel refreshed, I’ll roll it directly onto my wrists and the back of my neck. From the sweet scent I get a sense of calming that I desire.

A Good Night’s Sleep

This is by far what I use my Nature’s Truth Lavender Oil for the most. I use the scent of the Lavender oil as a way for me to be able to get ready for bedtime. One method I use for this is to put a drop or two of the lavender oil directly into my hands, rub them together, then cup them underneath my nose and inhale deeply. But my favorite way to use lavender oil is right before bedtime by diffusing it in my Nature’s Truth Essential Oil Diffuser.

With the new year now in full swing, I’ve been doing my best to stick to my goals and resolutions, one of which is to get more sleep. There never seem to be enough hours in the night for me to catch up on my rest. I have a hard time shutting my brain off and instead I’ll play games on my phone or run down my list of to-dos for the next day. I implemented a sleep routine this new year that’s been so successful that I wanted to share it with my fellow mamas.

Once my kiddos are all in bed and my evening chores are complete, I’ll take one of my Melatonin (a hormone in our bodies that helps regulate sleep cycles) tablets from Nature’s Truth. Typically, I can take a Melatonin one to two hours before I am ready to sleep. Since I occasionally struggle with my internal clock and restless sleep (I am known to stay up until wee hours before feeling tired), Melatonin has helped get my sleep cycle on track with my kiddos.*When my Melatonin levels are low, my sleep can get broken and restless. Taking Melatonin as a supplement can help me fall asleep.*

Next, I’ll wash my face, brush my teeth, and do all my nightly grooming. Ladies gotta groom, am I right? Then I’ll prepare my diffuser by adding a few drops of paraben free Lavender Oil (also from Nature’s Truth…love their products!) and flip it on as I get cozy under my covers.

This next part may seem silly, but it genuinely helps me relax: I grab my adult coloring books and get artsy. The coloring books work with the lavender oil for a relaxing hour of mind calming. Once I complete a page (if I make it that far!), I tuck away my coloring book, snuggle under the covers tight, and sleep.

It’s like the perfect recipe for a good night’s sleep. Can I also ask you to take note that nowhere in my routine did I say I check my phone? It stays in the kitchen. Where I won’t be tempted and so I can focus on rest. Do yourself this favor, friends.

I’ve been using Nature’s Truth supplements, oils, and vitamins and have noticed a difference in myself so much so that I went back out to purchase a few essentials for my husband (he needs help with energy when he works grave shifts, so he is using Vitamin B12).* I can easily find them at Rite Aid, though they are also available at Walgreens, Amazon, and Target.com.
