If you’re a regular follower of this blog on social media, you know that my baths and me are BFFs. I’m a sucker for a new bath bomb and all types of bubble bath. There are fewer things more relaxing to me than propping up my laptop (safely distanced) and flipping on a few Friends episodes as I soak my muscles and inhale the calming scents of a hot bath filled with soapy suds. This year, I’ve promised myself to do more beauty DIYs and tried my hand at making my own Calming Bubble Bath, filled with my favorite stress busting oil, lavender, and coconut oils for a relaxing experience before I tuck myself into bed.

To begin, I added some distilled water to a large glass jar.

Next I added some liquid Castile soap.

And a bit of vegetable glycerin.

Then some coconut oil.

And finally several drops of lavender essential oil.

I covered the jar with a lid and shook it up a few times to combine everything together.

I added some food coloring to make it purple and even some dried lavender to the jar, but you don’t need to do either of those things for this to work effectively.

Friends, it was literally that easy. Remind me again why I never tried this before? Plus, doesn’t it look simple and elegant on my bathtub ledge? This Calming Bubble Bath DIY was incredibly easy; I couldn’t believe I hadn’t tried this before.

As a desert dweller, one issue I have after my beloved baths is that my skin is so dry and often times, my hot bath water will agitate my skin, making it flaky and itchy. I’ve got a collection of lotions, but I’m forever forgetting to apply it after I’m dry and end up being fully dressed before I remember. And by that time, I’m nice and relaxed thanks to the lavender oils in my bath, ha! Recently while at Walmart, I discovered Jergens® Wet Skin™ Moisturizer that I believe is the solution to my post bath problem! My skin doesn’t have to be dry for me to apply it, I can slather it directly on my skin as soon as I’m out of the tub, leaving me with beautifully hydrated skin (and freshly shaved legs, bow chica wow wow!).

Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer is available in three options: green tea oil, coconut oil, and monoi oil. It absorbs into skin 2 times faster, instantly locking in moisture on wet skin. It’s crazy easy. As soon as I hop out of the tub, I apply Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer, then dry as normal. I smell light and wonderful, and my skin is so soft, my husband ends up rubbing his legs all over mine in a feeble flirt attempt.

My recipe for a calming night of relaxation perfection? This Calming Bubble Bath plus Jergens Wet Skin Moisturizer in Green Tea for skin that’s hydrated and moisturized and ready to defend my skin against the dry desert winter.
