Last year for Halloween, I went as my favorite witch of all time: Winifred Sanderson. My mom, sister, and I coordinated our costumes together to bring our favorite movie to life in an evening of festive Halloween fun with our kiddos. We enjoyed playing our witchy counterparts so much that we’ve decided to go as the Sanderson Sisters again this year.
I’ve got everything I need to recreate my beloved Winnie in full force this Hallows Eve, including my Maybelline beauty supplies from Walmart for the perfect red lip and bewitching eyes. If you’re as in love with Hocus Pocus and witchy magic as I am, this Winifred Sanderson Makeup Tutorial is a fun way to share your best face this Halloween.
To start, I covered my face in Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Foundation to get a base. I’m using their Porcelain shade. Thankfully Winnie’s makeup isn’t too wild, so I can start simple with the foundation and then lightly cover with a powder.
I used a bright red blush to dot the apples of my cheeks like Winnie’s in an exaggerated fashion.
Next, I smoothed out and filled in my brows with Maybelline Brow Drama in Deep Brown. I went light here because Winnie’s brows were virtually absent. Apparently she didn’t understand the importance of keeping those babies on fleek.
For my eyes, I went with a brown combination, brushing a light base from lid to brow and then a slightly darker color all over the lid. I contoured my crease with an even darker brown for definition and then left it at that for shadow.
I used Maybelline Line Express pencil liner in Ebony to swipe a little line at the base of each lid.
And to round out the eyes portion of this makeup tutorial, I finished off Winnie’s eyes with NEW Maybelline Falsies Push Up Drama Mascara. I despise false lashes, so finding a mascara that would give me mega-long, mega-thick, Sanderson sister lashes was priority. The patented push-up brush has cup-shaped bristles which scoop lashes up from the roots, coating and lifting them up into a dramatic 45 degrees.
Lastly, Winnie is known for her red lips, so I coated my top and bottom lips in a red lipstick and liner, exaggerating in the center. I used my Maybelline Super Stay Better Skin Foundation to cover the rest of my lip for the perfect Winnie pucker.
What do you guys think? Did I put a spell on you? My Winifred game is strong this year and I can’t wait to waltz down The Village in Big Bear with my SIS-TAHS in tow as we hunt for children. Well, maybe just some chocolate, but I’ll have fun pretending.
