I did not receive any financial payment for this post. However, PEEPS® and PEEPS & COMPANY® did provide products to facilitate the creative process of this craft. The PEEPS® and PEEPS & COMPANY® products, information, and additional gift pack have been provided by PEEPS® and PEEPS & COMPANY®. Thank you to PEEPS® and PEEPS & COMPANY® for partnering with me. And thank you readers for supporting the companies that support this blog and my family.

We don’t get many trick-or-treaters on Halloween in our rural town. Our house is sort of isolated, so we’ve never greeted even one candy hunting child on Halloween night. But we started a family tradition of staying in a cabin up in Big Bear last year and we did get a few trick or treaters on the hunt for candy. Since we will be out of the cabin on our own candy collecting mission, I thought I’d create a fun way for kids to get their candy from our cabin even though we won’t be there.

This fun pumpkin Frankenstein candy bowl was created with those craft pumpkins you can find just about everywhere right now. I just carved out a mouth hole and added some paint for this version, but the possibilities are endless. For an adult party, you could cut off the top and add in a bowl for icing your drinks. And for Thanksgiving, you could add some leaves around the base and hold some dip in it to hold people over before the feast.

SUPPLIES

  • craft pumpkin
  • knife or other carving tool
  • green, black, and white paint

To start, carve out a nice big mouth for Frankie. Remember, kids (and adults!) will need to be able to fit their hand inside and grab goodies, so make sure you’re generous with the opening.

Next you’ll paint. I painted the inside black and then the outside green. Then I added some black hair, whites for the eyes, and then black pupils.

Allow it to dry for at least 24 hours.

And finally, fill your Frankie with loads of candy! Our is filled to the brim with goodies from PEEPS® and PEEPS & COMPANY® like Mike & Ike, Peanut Chews, and Hot Tamales (my personal fave!). PEEPS also has special Halloween themed marshmallow treats out ranging from black cats and tombstones to spooky flavored chicks. If you’re anything like me, you’ll be excited to get your hands on these to create a fun Halloween treat for your kiddos. I’m already envisioning Tombstone cupcakes with crumbled cookie dirt and PEEPS Tombstones sticking out of the top.
