The sweet folks at Natural Home sent us a box of kitchen goodies to play with and share with you. I was not paid, but I did receive product in exchange for my thoughts.
With my children, one of our love languages is baking together. When we’re in the kitchen up to our elbows in flour or sticky dough, we connect. With each child having their own designated duty and me leading the Hot Mess Express, we laugh and make a mess. My kids feel loved and important. And I feel needed and for one glorious hour, I don’t doubt if I’m a good mother or if I’m giving enough of myself to them, as mother’s often wonder. We bake. We love.
Yesterday we registered Collin for Kindergarten and we came home with a (somehow older looking) boy and feeling the urge to make more preschool memories. To the kitchen we went to whip up a quick cookie dough that we could eat straight from the bowl wile watching Rainbow Rock, the latest movie on repeat here at the Sosa house. With my two helpers, the cookie dough was made in no time, though several chocolate chips were lost to little mouths in the process.
Our Natural Home mixing bowls and spatula looked and felt like melamine plastic, but they’re actually made from natural materials like bamboo sawdust and bamboo. The eco-friendly bowls are just as sturdy and last just as long as plastic without the chemicals it takes to create them. Can we also just have a moment for this rose dining set, please.
This cookie dough would make a great party dish served with some graham crackers or wafer cookies… or even on apples! Collin much preferred his straight up in a bowl while Evelyn just held her mouth open for anyone willing to stick a spoonful inside.
