Disclosure: I receive free product in order to evaluate and comment on my experiences on the Medifast Program. Medifast products and the Medifast Program are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or illness. Any medical improvements noted while on the program are related to weight loss in general, and not to Medifast products or programs.

It’s been a stressful few weeks of travel for us and we have a few more ahead. Traveling is hard when you’re dieting and I’ve definitely cheated more times than I should have. But I’ve also been making better choices (no donuts!) and maintaining my weight. In fact, even with a busy two weekends in a row I’ve lost. Medifast truly makes it easy to just grab and go with their food options and I’ve been able to just grab some of my snacks and meals, toss them in my overnight bag, and head out for the weekend. Let’s get on with the stats, shall we?

  • 1/21 (starting weight): 237.2
  • 4/2 weight: 227.6
  • Total loss = 9.6 pounds

One thing that I’ve discovered along this journey is that staying hydrated is key. I’ve experienced several migraines since changing my diet. I know this is partially withdrawal since I’ve quite drinking Diet Coke, stopped intaking a lot of sugar, and more. When I remember to stay hydrated, though, my migraines and headaches stay at bay, I have more energy, and I tend to avoid cravings. Today, in addition to sharing my stats, I thought I’d share a quick, simple, and easy DIY water bomb. Which is essentially just a gallon of water with tracking on it to help keep you motivated throughout the day to drink up.

All you need for this is a gallon of water and a Sharpie. You’ll simply divide the water up into two hour increments for whatever works for your schedule. This 7AM to 9PM works for me since I’m not usually in bed sleeping until after 10-11PM and since I’m up right around 7AM. Give yourself two hours between increments and jot down a motivations a phrase or word next to each one. This has been helpful for me in staying hydrated and motivated to drink water.
