weight loss motivation

Disclosure: I receive free product in order to evaluate and comment on my experiences on the Medifast Program. Medifast products and the Medifast Program are not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease or illness. Any medical improvements noted while on the program are related to weight loss in general, and not to Medifast products or programs.

I stumbled on this quote (pictured above) in a support group I’m in and it really spoke to me, so I put it into a graphic form to share with anyone else who experiences weight loss struggles. Tell me that’s not motivation to get your rear in gear? It’s all hard. While I don’t struggle with loving my body, I do love myself and my shape. I’m in no way ashamed of being plus sized, in fact I’m a fairly confident woman and feel beautiful, even when questioned at church how far along I am in my pregnancy (ha!). However, my weight and lifestyle increasingly show signs of wear and tear because of my weight. When I stand for long periods of time, my feet and knees ache; I get winded after a simple romp around with my kids. My health and fitness clearly need to be prioritized, which is why I began this journey.

This week was filled with both triumphs and frustration. We had a great week and as a family, we all worked towards eating healthier. We ate all lean meats and loads of fresh veggies this week. I stuck to my Medifast foods and even lost three pounds this week. My frustration is because I did end up cheating and once I did, I snowballed. Self-control with sweets is a glaring issue and I’m learning more about how I can best correct it, little by little. There is no magic solution and while Medifast is proving to be a great program with incredible results, I’m learning that there is no quick fix and that Medifast is here to help me, but it truly and really relies on me. I’m finding myself more and more relying on my faith and spirituality to get me through my weak days and heck, sometimes is minute by minute. After an especially bad Saturday, I turned to my Bible and was lead me to this verse: Or you do not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). I don’t believe it was mere coincidence that lead me to this verse exactly when I needed it and it’s given me a new perspective and motivation to press forward.

Next week, I’ll start posting selfies from the beginning and end of each week along with my weight and measurements. It’s a great way to keep me accountable and to see visual progress while also sharing some evidence with you guys, my friends!
