Editor’s Note: Today is part two of an organization series and collaboration I’ve put together with several bloggers I know and admire. In the coming weeks, each Wednesday, we will share an organization project with you along with our tips, tricks, and ideas. And of course those before and after photos we all just love to analyze. Welcome to Destination Organization: a collaboration of organization projects to inspire you to tackle your clutter at home.

Hello! I am Sarah I blog over at Whimsy & Hope. I blog about recipes, crafts and my life as a mom.

Carsyn my four year old has Holoprosencephaly and Cerebral Palsy. We have a lot of medical bills and paper work I need to keep up with. I also do blogging as a business so I need to keep up with all my receipts. Last year I did a horrible job keeping everything organized so I vowed this year to start new and keep up with everything this year.

I grabbed this expandable folder from Walmart. Since I have just started I don’t have a ton of tabs done yet but I love how many different tabs there are.

It came with labels, so I started labeling them with what I knew I would need.

  • Medical Bills – to keep up with everything we pay out of pocket.
  • Health Insurance – any documentation sent to us from our health insurance.
  • Taxes – receipts from donating to thrift stores and other non-profits.
  • Misc. Receipts – any receipt that doesn’t fit in one of the other categories.
  • House Bills – likes tax, insurance, etc.
  • Check Stubs – from Kenny’s work.
  • Blog Receipts – anything I buy that is used for blogging.

I grabbed everything I had from this year so far and started separating everything.

I like this better then using our file cabinet because it is small and I can take it where ever. I could even keep it in the car if I wanted to. That way I could automatically add in my receipts and they wouldn’t get lost. Though I really enjoyed organizing on my new rug!
