I’m not sure why, but seafood is intimidating to me. Despite my best efforts of introducing more fish to our family menu, I feel as though I fall short. I have the best of intentions, but I need to make a better effort in ensuring we incorporate more fish into our diets. I figure it starts with baby steps, right? So I started with this Wild Alaskan Pollock Avocado Burger and swapped out our beef for these Trident Seafoods® Wild Alaskan Pollock Burgers I found at Costco.
To start, I simply added a bit of grapeseed oil to a pan and popped in one of the burgers.
Just a couple minutes on each side and the smell was so good my husband came out from our bedroom where he was studying to check out what I was cooking.
Then I sliced up tomato and lettuce.
The final, and most fun step, was to assemble the burger, starting with the most essential burger sauce: thousand island.
Then the Wild Alaskan Pollock Burger, which was so juicy and flaky, you guys!
Then lettuce.
A nice thick slice of tomato.
And what Southern Californian could ever even think of enjoying a burger without plenty of avocado, right?
As someone who has never thoroughly enjoyed seafood, I think it says a lot about these burgers if my mouth was watering before I even took a bite.
The fish was perfection and so flaky and delicious! I’m excited to try more fun meals with these burgers like chopping them up over a salad or wrapping them up in a tortilla. Yum!
The Trident Seafoods® Wild Alaskan Pollock Burgers were quick, easy to prepare, and made adding fish into our menu rotation easy. They were simple enough that I didn’t feel intimidated and also came in familiar burger format for my kiddos, all of whom enjoyed the pollock. Since Wild Alaska Pollock is mild in flavor, like cod, and provides all the benefits of seafood, it was the obvious choice for introducing seafood to my kiddos. Plus, they make such a better alternative to beef burgers that contain high fat and extra calories (the Wild Alaskan Pollock Burgers contain 178% less fat, 94% less Calories, 25% less Cholesterol). There is no greater satisfaction in my head than when my freezer is this full of easy to make meals and dinner solutions for my family.
