LEGO Friends Soap Bars

I was not financially compensated for this post. Netflix provided me with a subscription and with the toys to facilitate this post. All thoughts opinions and ideas are my own. Thank you to Netflix for partnering with me and thank you readers for supporting the brands that support this blog and my family.

From DinoTrux (new episodes premiered this week!) to Turbo, my kiddos love the Netflix Originals we get to enjoy thanks to our monthly subscription. And I love that I don’t have to deal with those obnoxious kid commercials while making dinner. My children know that when it’s time for me to prep dinner, they get to enjoy a little bit of Netflix while I cook our meal. And the Netflix Originals are the usual go to picks that all three can agree on. This month, Netflix is premiering two new shows based on a toy most children (and parent feet!) know well: LEGO, with LEGO Friends: The Power of Friendship and LEGO Bionicle: The Journey to One. Both originals promise to empower little ones to dream up their own adventures and let their imaginations run wild, which I know from experience, Netflix Originals typically deliver!

In partnership with Netflix, I was inspired to encourage my kiddos imaginations (and hand washing!) with a fun LEGO Friends Soap Bars, inspired by the new show and the fun LEGO sets Netflix sent over to my family this week. It was a simple and easy to make DIY that only required a few minutes of my time and allowed me to have fun with my essential oils, which is an added bonus!

SUPPLIES

  • clear glycerin melt and pour soap
  • knife
  • soap mold
  • essential oil (I used peppermint)
  • LEGO Friends figures

To start, I cut my glycerin soap into small chunks and placed four into a microwave safe bowl to melt.

Once they melted (took roughly a minute), I added 20 drops of peppermint essential oil and stirred it in with a wooden spoon.

And then I poured the melted glycerin into my soap molds, filling them up about halfway.

I allowed them to set slightly (about three minutes) and then gently pressed in my LEGO and LEGO Friends figures.

Next I repeated the process and melted more chunks of the glycerin, added essential oil, and then I topped off the molds until the figures were completely covered.

I moved the mold to the fridge to set faster and it only took about an hour for all of the soap to completely harden enough for me to remove them from the mold.

These fun LEGO Friends inspired soap bars turned out fantastically! My little girl couldn’t wait to get her hands on them and my dudes are hand washing champs as they try to scrub as hard as they can to rescue their LEGO guys! I made extra soaps for their Easter baskets and to hand out to some friends as Easter gifts because they’re just so cool and fun.

Tune into Netflix this month and watch the new LEGO Friends: The Power of Friendship and LEGO Bionicle: The Journey to One. What Netflix Original is your kid in love with?
