1 Chronicles 16:34

This month I started writing scripture daily. For me, daily quiet time is a bit intimidating and while I know it’s important, I never know where to begin. I found a daily scripture writing plan and have been copying down preassigned scriptures each day for my quiet time. The experience has been rewarding for me as it forced me to slow down, digest the words, and think about them while I’m writing them out. I feel as though it helps me to discern what the scripture truly means and in what context when I do this. And I’m excited to continue doing this for all of 2016.

One of my scripture writings this week was 1 Chronicles 16:8-14 and once I had finished with my writing, I read on through 1 Chronicles 16. When I got to 1 Chronicles 16:34, I paused and really became focused on those words,

Let the heavens rejoice, let the earth be glad;
let them say among the nations, “The Lord reigns!”

It was just a powerful reminder for me to worship. The Lord reigns and this whole passage reminded me that he should be worshipped on all days. Every single day.

When it came to creating the art around these verses, I wanted to sort of make it feel like I was shouting from the page, “the Lord reigns!!!” What’s louder than a colorful rainbow, right?

I’ve had to swallow some hard lessons this week and my Bible has been the way God’s been communicating to me throughout these small life lessons. I’ve had to be reminded of forgiveness and humility several times throughout the past few days. But I’ve been learning so much good stuff and am always impressed by how the Lord works in my life.
