Every year on Thanksgiving, I make an annual post to social media inviting anyone who wants a warm meal and good company over the holiday over to my home. Yesterday I made my annual invitation public and look forward to hosting anyone who shows up. I’ll also have leftovers bags on hand for anyone who wants to take a little extra home with them. This year I’ve decided to have a little fun with my doggy bags and created a few silly ways to share the leftovers with these DIY Thanksgiving Leftovers Bags.
SUPPLIES
- plain brown gift bags (I found mine at Target)
- sticker alphabet letters
- Sharpies
Using your alphabet letters, spell out a silly saying like, “fancy meeting you again,” over the patterned paper. You could also use a Sharpie if you’ve got lovely handwriting or calligraphy skills.
I did a combination of both, trying my hand at a little typography. It’s not perfect, but I love the simplicity and primitive feel of these bags.
You can get as creative or stay as simple as you want with this doggy bag DIY. Try adding a harvest ribbon to the handle, maybe glue on some festive patterned paper to the front before adding the lettering, or even dazzle it up with some glitter glue.
