I received a set of multi-purpose jars from PaperMart in order to facilitate this post. I was not financially compensated. Thank you to PaperMart for partnering with me. And thank you readers for supporting the brand that support this blog and my family.
I’ve said it before, if it makes me basic to love all things pumpkin at this time of the year, I don’t want to be un-basic….non-basic…? Whatever the case, I’m going to embrace the hell out of my basic label and tell you that this DIY Pumpkin Spice Sugar Scrub is a fantastic way to get your pumpkin fix and pamper yourself at the same time. It’s really simple to whip up and I made several batches to gift my mom, sister, and family friend during our annual Big Bear Halloween visit.
To start, you’ll add some brown sugar and white sugar into a large bowl.
Next add in some pumpkin pie spice, some ground coffee, and a dash of cinnamon.
Mix everything together until it’s well combined.
Finally, add in coconut oil. You can use almond oil or even olive oil too if you don’t have coconut oil on hand.
Combine everything together until it’s well saturated and looks like this.
Transfer to containers. For some unknown reason, I never remember to purchase a funnel for my kitchen and resorted to using a trimmed down water bottle. Worked just as well.
You’ll want to store this in an air tight container. I found these little sugar scrub containers from PaperMart. One batch fills three of these and they’re the perfect size for using the scrub without it lasting well into December/January. Because that’s peppermint season for me. Basic. So basic.
I would recommend that you use it within the next 3-6 months. While it will be safe to use after that, you’ll start to lose the pumpkin spice scent and efficiency of the coffee, which helps reduce redness and inflammation.
