On cereal mornings, there is a slight sense of excitement in the air made clear my my children. Will today be the day one of them discovers the coveting cereal toy in their bowl? They know the rule well: no fishing inside the box for the toy. We eat the cereal and whatever day and whomever’s bowl it decides to show up in, that child keeps the toy. The excitement is made even more apparent by the new Minions toys in General Mills cereals.
The elusive 7th Minion is found only at Walmart which means that’s the only place my children will allow me to purchase cereal from as we venture to find it this summer. During my last trip, I picked up two family favorites: Cocoa Puffs and Mini Trix and tucked them in my cart. The kids watched me unload my bags and wanted to tear into the cereal immediately, requiring me to recite the rule several times. They have asked daily if today is cereal day. Yesterday? Yesterday was finally cereal day.
Both boxes contained the same caveman Minion, but this just gave them more motivation to find that pesky 7th Minion lurking in a Walmart somewhere. I have a sneaking suspicion that we will be eating a lot of cereal this summer as we continue our hunt for those mischievous little yellow friends.
Be sure to head over to Walmart to begin your own family hunt for the 7th Minion.
