I get to make my own schedule, my office is in my bedroom, I don&#8217;t need to ask anyone else for time off (which also means I&#8217;m never late!), and I get to stay home with my children. But with all the perks come an equal amount of not-so-exciting things about working from home. It&#8217;s much easier to get stuck in a rut, working with kiddos underfoot is harder than you&#8217;d think, and sometimes being in one place all that time takes a toll on my inspiration.<\/p>\n<p>As a stationery addict, one of my favorite ways to freshen things up and create an inspiring work environment is with office supplies. A pretty planner, a new pen, and even a lovely new DIY Mouse Pad. Whenever I&#8217;m feeling a little like my workspace needs a pick-me-up, I retreat to my stash of craft supplies and whip up a new mouse pad with some cork, some fabric, and a little craft glue.<\/p>\n<p><strong>SUPPLIES<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/diy-mouse-pad001.png\" alt=\"diy mouse pad001\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>cork board<\/li>\n<li>fabric<\/li>\n<li>craft glue<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To start, I trimmed down my cork board to the size and shape I prefer. For this tutorial, I used the bowl from my stand mixer to trace out a circle and trim off the excess cork.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/diy-mouse-pad004.png\" alt=\"diy mouse pad004\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<p>Next I did the same to my fabric, leaving extra space around the circle to wrap around the cork.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/diy-mouse-pad005.png\" alt=\"diy mouse pad005\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<p>And using craft glue, I adhered the fabric to the cork board, tucking the excess fabric underneath as I went along. Little helper hands below.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/diy-mouse-pad006.png\" alt=\"diy mouse pad006\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<p>I allowed it to dry overnight before using.<\/p>\n<p>A lovely lavender Ikat print to freshen up my desk in no time at all! It was a simple afternoon craft that&#8217;s certain to help inspire and motivate me to be more productive.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/05\/diy-mouse-pad008.png\" alt=\"diy mouse pad008\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<p>With a busy work from home schedule, I&#8217;m all for a simple craft that still allows me to get creative while keep my schedule open for all of the demands in my life, which is why I also love the new <a target=\"_self\" href=\"http:\/\/cbi.as\/3jdur\" rel=\"nofollow\">Centrum Vitamints Raspberry<\/a>.* The Vitamints are a unique combination of essential nutrients and offer a delicious and fresh taste.
