We&#8217;ve completed several activities thus far: ice cream play dough, paper bag jellyfish, and tie dye tank tops. Last week, we created galaxy slime and the kids still ask to play with their sensory tool even today. It was a simple DIY that uses items most families already have in their home, so I&#8217;m sharing it with you today.<\/p>\n<p><strong>WHAT YOU&#8217;LL NEED<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a target=\"_self\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1f0ONL4\">Elmer&#8217;s school glue<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_self\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1HJ44qF\">liquid starch<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_self\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1M4mSHj\">paint<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_self\" href=\"http:\/\/amzn.to\/1M4mVTs\">glitter<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>To start, you&#8217;ll pour an entire bottle of Elmer&#8217;s glue into a bowl.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/galaxy-slime3.jpg\" alt=\"galaxy slime3\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<p>Next you&#8217;ll add some glitter. We just <strong><em>went<\/em><\/strong> for it, using an entire bottle.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/galaxy-slime5.jpg\" alt=\"galaxy slime5\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll also add the paint color you want. Since we are going for galaxy, think purples, blacks, and blues.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/galaxy-slime7.jpg\" alt=\"galaxy slime7\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/galaxy-slime8.jpg\" alt=\"galaxy slime8\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<p>Give it a good stir and then add your liquid starch. There is no true measurement here. Start with a splash or two and go from there to create the texture you want.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/galaxy-slime10.jpg\" alt=\"galaxy slime10\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/galaxy-slime9.jpg\" alt=\"galaxy slime9\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<p>You&#8217;ll stir again and this time you&#8217;ll notice how it almost instantly starts to bind everything together. Once you can&#8217;t stir anymore, dive in with your hands to mix everything together.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/ourhollydays.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/galaxy-slime11.jpg\" alt=\"galaxy slime11\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\"><\/p>\n<p>This is supposed to feel slimy and gooey, but it shouldn&#8217;t stick to your hands or other surfaces. It&#8217;s a sensory experience, even for adults!
