Christmas Pageant Kids | OshKosh

This post is sponsored by Everywhere Agency on behalf of OshKosh B’gosh; however, all thoughts and opinions expressed are my own.

My boys’ school puts on a small Christmas play every year and my ever-swelling mama heart always looks forward to it. I love watching them stand on stage and sing the songs they’ve practiced for weeks, eyes scanning the crowd for me as they belt out, “All I Want for Christmas is My Two Front Teeth,” & beam with pride when they catch my hand waving high for them to see. It’s not a formal event, but we all dress a little fancier and try to be festive because everyone knows by now that it’s my best opportunity to get pictures with my, “big camera,” to mark the occasion. It’s become quite the little tradition in our family and I love every moment of the home grown pageant starring the children of our small town.

This year, like every other, I rounded everyone up for fresh outfits and a good hair combing before rushing them out the door for pictures before wrestling matches could ruffle anything up. I posed them on our rock, that by now they know is the picture rock. It’s where I always pose them for pictures like these. This rock has seen their dedication, four Halloweens, four Christmases, twelve birthdays, and five Forth of Julys.

This Christmas, our trusty rock provides a perfect posing scene for two first graders, proud as can be. And a toothy-grinned, curly-haired three year old who will be four in just a few short weeks.

For my kiddos, style and comfort go hand in hand. Here in the High Desert, it’s all about layers. While some days my boys carry their jackets to school in their backpacks (despite my reminder that jackets won’t keep you warm when they’re inside a backpack), by the end of the day, they need an added layer once the desert winds pick up. OshKosh provides them with clothes that are durable, but also make them feel confident and stylish.

My sweet Aiden boy loves wearing layers and always wants to have a plaid button up over whatever shirt he’s wearing. Before his pageant, we added a handsome cardigan for a cozy holiday feel that made him look like quite the young man sitting on that faithful rock of ours.

Heart filled with pride, rock pictures just weren’t enough for me this year and I forced my trio to pose for just a few more at the school before the pageant started. Thankfully I’ve raised three very hammy children thus far and they were happy to oblige.

Inside the cafeteria, we were sung to with the proudest first grade class I ever did see. Always absurdly proud, I cried like I do every year. And afterwards I told them how wonderful they were and how proud I was of them both. And like we do every year (as reliable as my mom-cry), we picked up a pizza on the way home. It’s a little tradition, but it’s ours and it makes our holiday feel special.
