In my blended family of seven, cold season hits us hard. Between five little kiddos and two adults, I’ve learned over the years what remedies seem to soothe them the most (myself included) and one of my tried and true remedies is a hot cup of Bigelow tea sweetened with a little honey to coat and soothe even the sorest of throats. The steam from the tea helps to clear stuffy noses while the warm liquid soothes and the honey coats for relief. I’ve prepared my pantry with plenty of Bigelow tea in a variety of flavors in anticipation of cold season in the Sosa house.

To make this simple Cold Soothing Honey Lemon Tea, you’ll need Bigelow Lemon Ginger tea. Boil your water or use a handy instant hot water feature on your coffee maker. I can’t tell you how often we use that feature on ours!

And let it steep for as long as you prefer. I typically allow one to two full minutes.

After it’s steeped, go ahead and add about a tablespoon of honey while it’s still hot and stir it together, letting the warm tea melt the honey down.

When I’m feeling foggy during a cold, I love to just hold the steaming tea right under my nose and breathe it in. The lemon aroma and warm steam soothe my nose and stuffed head while I wait for the tea to cool down enough to drink. When it’s cool enough to drink, the honey helps to coat a sore and raw throat, providing welcome warmth, relief, and comfort. Even if I’m not using tea to soothe a cold, it provides warmth on chilly winter days and helps me to wind down and relax, so I always have some of my favorite flavors on hand.

Bigelow has been manufactured in the US for three generations and always use quality ingredients for superior tea. They use foil packaging that provides freshness I can depend on time and again, which is why I choose it for my family over and over. I can grab Bigelow at my local Walmart during my usual weekly shopping for my family and I love that I have easy access to my favorite tea. I tea proudly when I drink Bigelow.
